Apply for Kiwanis College Scholarship - 04/06/2018

The Kiwanis Club of Jackson is now accepting applications for college scholarships. Applicants must live in Jackson County, graduate from a Jackson County high school in the spring (or be home-schooled students who live in Jackson County), and plan to attend full-time a college or university within Jackson County (Baker College-Jackson, Jackson College or Spring Arbor University). They must also show success in high school and exemplify the Kiwanis standards through extra-curricular activities and volunteer opportunities, as well as work experience if applicable.

Racing for Dollars this February - 02/18/2018

Support your community and have a great time, at the 12th annual Racing for Dollars benefit on Sunday, February 18! As we watch the Daytona 500 live on big screen TVs, guests will enjoy a delicious meal, catch up with friends, and get the chance to win great prizes and cash. 

Since 2007, Racing For Dollars has raised and distributed more than $298,000 in our community. This year, the event raised funds for St. Luke’s Clinic, A.D.A.M. – Another Day Another Memory, the Kiwanis Club of Jackson in support of youth programs, the Jackson Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee and the Rotary Foundation of Jackson County. Installation of 2017-18 Kiwanis Board - 10/06/2017

Installation of Officers and Board Members took place on Friday, October 6. New officers elected include: President – Andy Johnson, President Elect – Mike Zuchowski, Vice President – Mary Lou McFadden, Treasurer – Chandra Howard, Secretary (appointed by the president) – Joe Wolfe. 

Board members voted in for a 2nd term: Terry Langston and Mary Hitch; New board members – Kyle Jansen and Amanda Casler. 

Flag-Waving Holiday for Kiwanis - 09/04/2017

Support your country and the Kiwanis Club of Jackson at the same time. Sign up to display the American Flag at your home or business during the five major flag-waving holidays each year: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day (through Patriot Day) and Veterans Day (weather-permitting). Club members do all the work!
To sign up, fill out this form and return it, with payment, to the address on the form.
Each year, more than 1,100 flags wave throughout the county, from Michigan Center to Parma, Clark Lake to Rives Junction.


Granite Blocks Available to Support Kiwanis Park - 08/31/2017

Make a difference in a child's life while leaving a legacy. Purchase an engravable block that is set within the pillars of the front entrance to the Kiwanis Park. The Kiwanis Foundation of Jackson still has blocks available. You can express your words, whether it be in honor of someone or a business or in memory of someone, or something of that nature. Each block costs $125 and is a permanent legacy. The park is at the corner of N. Elm Avenue and Blakely Street.

Kiwanis a Part of the Splash Pad at The Cascades - 06/29/2017

The Kiwanis Club of Jackson is pleased to announce it is part of the new Splash Pad at The Cascades in Jackson County, Michigan. It has sponsored the Kiwanis bucket and the Kids Zone, which are sure to delight children.

The Splash Pad held its Grand Opening on June 29. Kiwanians funded and served ice cream and pizza. Then, eight of them stood under the bucket, and were doused. Cold, but fun, many said!

Kiwanis Club Retires Tattered Flags - 05/19/2017

The Kiwanis Club of Jackson hosted an American Flag Retirement Ceremony during our club meeting on Friday, May 19. We retired tattered flags from our Flag Project. The Jackson High School Choir sang patriotic songs. Eight Vietnam Veterans joined us and read “the Folds in our Flag." There were also a presentation of the flag, 21 gun salute, taps and the burning of the flags (many done by our club members who are veterans).

Kiwanis Combats Hunger - 03/22/2017

The Kiwanis Club of Jackson is doing its part of fight hunger. On March 22, members teamed up with students at the Middle School at Parkside to package thousands of meals of food. Each meal will feed twelve children or six adults and will be sent to local food pantries and places in need (such as disaster zones). The club not only provided people, it also provided the $2,800 it costs to fund this project.

Kiwanians Raise Funds for Shoes and Boots for Local Kids - 12/16/2016

On Friday, December 16, Kiwanians sold Kiwanis newspapers all over Jackson County, in exchange for donations. The money raised will pay for shoes and boots for needy students attending Jackson Public Schools. This is the 98th year Kiwanis has held the Newspaper Sale.
